Competition for the Lviv Court of Appeal: One Candidate Failed to Confirm the Ability to Administer Justice

On April 16, 2026, at the session of a panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the results of the qualification assessment of a candidate for the position of a judge at the Lviv Court of Appeal was determined.

The panel resolved to terminate the qualification assessment of Rostyslav Sopilnyk, a candidate for the position of a judge of the general court of appeal, and to recognise him as having failed to confirm the ability to administer justice at the general court of appeal on the grounds of his failure to appear for the qualification assessment.

Please be reminded that 55 candidates submitted applications to participate in the competition for 28 vacant positions of judges at the Lviv Court of Appeal.

Overall, the qualification assessment of 27 candidates for the Lviv Court of Appeal has been completed: 17 candidates have confirmed the ability to administer justice at the general court of appeal, 6 candidates failed to confirm it, and 4 candidates will be interviewed by the plenary session of the Commission. One candidate withdrew from the competition.
